Outstanding Fishing on the Presque Isle Chain of Lakes! Our local fishing waters are second to none in all of northern Wisconsin. Comprised of 3 lakes with a total of 1,500 acres of spring-fed water, the Presque Isle Chain of Lakes offers exceptional angling for Musky Northern Pike Largemouth Bass Smallmouth Bass Crappie Sunfish Perch Walleye

Here at Alpine Resort, we promote C.P.R. (Catch, Photograph, and Release) of all trophy fish. Our class "A" muskie waters teem with your favorite species and provide plenty of opportunities to do just that. However, we do provide fish cleaning and freezing facilities for eating-sized crappies, panfish, and walleyes.

If sampling other lakes is what you like to do on vacation, the Presque Isle area holds over 100 top quality lakes, most of which are overlooked by the usual fishing crowds. That means better fishing and no congestion. Just ask Tim what he suggests or see link to list of Vilas Lakes below.

Alpine Resort is located on Van Vliet Lake and is the only resort on the lake. At 220 acres with a maximum depth of 26', the lake is simple to learn and fish. Easy access to Averill Lake, and 1280 acre/ 80' deep Presque Isle Lake just past that, all accessible by boat, making available to you a wide variety of fishing possibilities. We are also just across the road from Crab Lake, (no resorts or lodging available on Crab Lake.)

We will connect you with a reliable guide if you so choose, or you can strike out on your own. Our guests receive lake maps, along with detailed advise from Tim, with all the proven hot spots, marked by species, that have been identified over the years, as well as the current hotspots based on recent conditions.
